TEP laparoscopic direct hernia reduction

DIRECT (as opposed to indirect) inguinal hernias are bulges in the groin occuring medial to the inferior epigastric vessels. They can be small or large in diameter, and they can be shallow or cavernous (deep). When found, they must be fully reduced, and then your surgeon should overlap the mesh sufficiently past the medial border past the pubic symphysis (and as in this case – past the midline), or there could be a risk of recurrence. Seromas can occur postoperatively.
